Connect to Client PC

We have already configured the client PC to be able to boot from network. After booting a Linux login screen is shown. There are already some users like teacher, teststud1 etc. From LServerAdmin application we can create new users later.

Connect to Windows

  • We press ALT-CTRL-F6. Windows login screen is shown. We press Alt-Ctrl-Delete. We click on Change user and then Other user.
  • If we already have an administrator account we connect with our own account on domain SCH.LOCAL. Otherwise we connect as local administrator root typing username .\root
 

Logout from Windows

  • We click on Windows menu icon on the bottom left , then on the user icon and select Logout
  • Alternatively we press ALT-CTRL-DEL and select Logout
 

Connect to Linux

  • After booting the client PC from network, linux login screen is shown by default. If not we press ALT-CTRL-F7. From Options on bottom left we can select Session (graphical environment), e.g. Lubuntu or LXDE.
  • We connect with our personal network acoount.
 

Logout from Linux

  • We click on Linux menu icon on the bottom left, we select Logout and again Logout on the window that will appear
 

Shutdown Lab PCs

  • Shutdown/Restart :
    • (Normal) : We press CTRL-ALT-DEL. Initial Linux login screen is displayed. From Options on the bottom left, we select Shutdown or Restart. This will shutdown or restart local PC.
    • (Abnormal) : In case of problem we can poweroff abnormally from power button. No data will be lost since nothing is stored on the local PC.
