====== Boot from OS installed on local disk ====== In some circumstances **we might need to boot client PCs from their locally installed Operating Systems** either because we connected hardware that needs local installation, e.g. web camera or specific software. We do the following: * If we want to boot locally **once a specific PC**. * During the boot process we press the BIOS key that shows the **Boot Menu**. Usually one of **F9,F10,F11 ή F12** or another key depending on the PC model or its motherboard. * We then select the locally installed OS to boot from. * Alternatively we can remove before booting the network cable and after the locally installed OS starts we can connect it back. (This is not suggested to be done often since we can damage the cable or its plug). * If we want to boot **all PCs** from their local Operating Systems. * [[el:quickstart:connect2server|We login to server and then open Proxmox web interface from a browser]], find virtual machine **ltsp or thinsrv**, right click and select **shutdown** ([[en:connection:startstop#virtual_machines|see. shutdown of virtual machines]]). The green icon of the vm should turn into grey to indicate it stopped. After that, no client PC will network boot. * **To configure client PCs to boot again from network** we right click on virtual machine ltsp or thinsrv and select **start**.
